With video-vesa the desktop doesn’t even come up. The graphics driver I’m running is video-linux, I also tried video-modesetting, it makes no difference. With intel-gpu-top I always see 0.00% on Video usage. I get insane CPU loads both on youtube playback (both firefox and chrome) and also on local file playback with mplayer. I recently put Manjaro Cinnamon edition on it and everything is running fine, except hardware accelerated video playback.
